Well I just drove from Perth to Melbourne, about a 5000km journey, over the last 10 days. It's weird being here where it all started, with a totally different crowd. I'm probably going to sell my car here this week too, I'm in desperate need of the money. Then I'll get a coach to Sydney, check that out around the Christmas period, then possibly fly back to Perth where I have a job to go back to if I want and a few other reasons.
It's been about 10 months now, the start of the trip seems a lifetime ago, yet it's gone so fast. Many things have changed and I'm definitely a different person now, doing this has been the best choice I ever made and I'd recommend doing it to anyone - it's so easy. I've driven over 25,000km in that time and in doing so have seen some of the most amazing and awe inspiring things that I'm ever likely to see. For those of you without family obligations, get out of the standard routine and see some of the world. Fuck the job, forget the comfort of normality; one thing I've learnt is that the invisible chains we create for ourselves really aren't there. Do new things all the time. There's little to stop you waking up one day and adventuring out somewhere new (even if it's for a day, or a week) for no other reason than you just feel like it. It doesn't necessarily have to be far. Use more opportunities. Say yes more.
