Crazy busy here, franctically trying to get a massive project started and finished in a couple of days...

Got paid a few days ago though, so I treated myself to a few new things, and Easter was a nice break but I wish I had started my project earlier. It's always the same, leaving things to the very last minute, but as rel says it 'always works out' :D

I got knocked off the bottom :p

Tue Mar 30th 18:34:25 2004 *

I've just come back give or take half an hour from a college party which was much fun. I met up with a very old friend (someone who I haven't seen for about 6 years) and we instantly clicked just like the old times. He's amazing fun. It's a great feeling to have caught up with him, and we're going to keep in tough quite often now. Unfortunately I've got a good hours worth of Maths to do now, and it's another early morning so not much sleep again tonight. Luckily though, I break up at the end of this week for a couple of weeks off which will be a nice break but then I've still got about 6/7 weeks of teaching after that ad then pretty much straight into the exams. But after that it's going to be an amazing summer with so much to do :)

My iPod has arrived and it's lived up to expectation - it's quality. Now just waiting for the firewire card to arrive so I can get the songs transferred somewhat quicker than USB 1.1.

Additionally, my dad has agreed to purchase me a laptop for going away to University, so I should be getting that in the near future along with an iPaq, but I'll be paying for that myself. It's all good :)

I still can't hear anything because my ears are ringing so much, but I had beter get on with my work nontheless. Have a good day everyone :)

Looking like it'll be an enjoyable week ahead. I've got a couple of days off college tomorrow and Tuesday for an Open day at Durham University, and I'll be able to catch up on a lot of work on the two long train journeys hopefully. Then I have a few lessons cancelled in the remaining days, so it'll be a few easier days to end the week, and then just one more week before the two week Easter break. I really should start doing some proper revision though around then rather than just reading the books again. These exams are crucial this year, but I plan to do very well.

For now though, it's off to catch up on some much needed sleep..

I spent all his months wages and then some on a 20GB iPod :)

I can't wait for it to arrive; it's going to be amazing :)

Exmas were results were generally good, with all A's except one C; which I'm going to re-sit again. I got paid loads this month for work, so I've decided I'm going to splash out on a 20GB iPod. Just got to decide what to have engraved on it, which seems a difficult decision. Any suggestions?

How lucky of you rel with only like 5 weeks left. I've got at least 8, maybe 9 and then straight into exams. Can't wait until it's all over and the summer is here really :)

Anyway, end of another hectic week, and off to work tonight before going out for my mates 18th. Much fun :)

Exam Results time.... :) :-\

Thu Mar 11th 03:40:39 2004 *

Well, it's just about time for me to go and collect the majority of my exam results for all the exams I did in January. I'm just blogging now to waste a bit of time so the queue will go down. I've already had the most important results (an A in maths) and I'm really pleased about that because it was essential I got it. Still got to see how I did in ICT, Law and Business studies though. I hope for the best but there's always re-sits ;)

In other news I went to a talk by Sir Peter Davies, the man brought in to attempt to turn Sainsburys back to the market leader they once were. It was a very interesting talk; and he's certainly got his work cut out for him.

Anyway, the queue looks reasonable now so off I go :)

I'm doing the British Informatics Olympiad this week which should prove to be a testing, but enjoyable 3 hours :p Any chance you are doing it, or have already done it Crisp/Rel? You might want to see if you re able to do it, I'm sure you'd enjoy it. Check the site for past questions :)

I'd previously had troubles getting to sleep at night (nothing liek insomnia, but just seemed to stay awakle for a while before i could get to sleep even when I was really tired, but i read recently that the key to falling asleep quickly is to have warm feet. So I've been to bed waeraing socks for the past few nights and it really does seem to make a difference, although maybe it's just a physcological thing :p

I've taken a conscious decision to take a break from all thing that aren't 'necessary' online. My work load is continually piling up, and it doesn't look as though it's going to get any less in the near future so I'm really going to try and concentrate on my work and any time I have free I'll be able to spend as I wish. Of course I'll still be blogging and posting abit here and there, just not as much as usual.

A new series on BBC1 called Hustle is brilliant, even though the first episode reminded me much of The Sting. It's nice to have a quality series on TV these days though, it seems to be populated with so much junk nowadays. That's all for now, I've got a huge amount of Maths coursework to get done today, so another late night I imagine...

The Last Samurai

Mon Feb 16th 17:59:15 2004 *

Well I finally got to see the Last Samurai tonight and I would certinaly agree with everyone who recommended it to me. Cruise was particularly good I thought.

I have this week off college so I'll be using the time to get a lots of things done that I have been wanting to do for a while, although in reality I have more than enough work to do to keep me occupied for the best part of the week. It's meant to be a break from college but they pile on the work so it roughly works out just the same as it would be if we were in college. It's nice though as it allows me to determine when I want to do the work rather than having to get up absurdly early to do it ;)

I spent a good part of today shopping though, just to make the start of the week pleasant but I've come away with several good DVDs and Books that I just can't afford the time to read/watch. I've got a load of things recorded on video that I need to catch up with sometime also. I've been reading an excellent book called "The Ten Second Internet Manager" which is based on being a manager in an Internet oriented business and how to make the best possible use of your time, which has shown me the benefits of spending my time more productively - something which hasn't always been the case.

On that note, it would be apt to get back to work :)

Blogage.

Tue Feb 10th 17:32:40 2004 *

Excellent. I received confirmation from Metronomy that my free PC will be coming within a few months. It will come in most handy I should imagine, providing I can deal with the hassle of the adverts. This 'offer' isn't much use to the majority of you because it's only available to UK residents, but Crisp and Rel - you might want to take a look at their site. My thoughts on the offer.

I've also got a lot of free stuff legitimately from work which was slightly faulty but no real problems so I've got some fun stuff to play with when I get a chance. I went through a period of being disillusioned with work just after Christmas and was seriously thinking of giving it up and concentrating on my college work, but it's taken a turn for the better and now I sometimes even look forward to going to work :p so I'm going to stick with it until the summer when I imagine I'll get a better job for a few months and work a lot, and save a significant amount of money for going away to University. I have next week off college, as it is half-term which is a more than welcome break, although I'm sure they'll pile on the work for us to make sure it isn't much of a break, but at least the lie-ins wil be much appreciated. I've also got a few things in teh pipeline, like ice-skating which I love but haven't done for about a year. It's going to be great fun :D

Much to do tonight before I get to sleep so it's going to be another late night, but at least I'm feeling productive so I'm working hard to get things done.
